Vlacherno Church, in Kerkira, Greece, is an iconic symbol of the island. Built in the 17th century and nestled among a grove of olive trees, it is a lovely country church with picturesque whitewashed stone walls and a tiled roof. Inside, you'll find a well-preserved fresco painted by 16th century painter Theodoros Poulakis. The bell tower is an example of Ionian architecture and features some of the island's flagstone paving. Whether by day or by night, Vlacherno Church is an enchanting example of Greece's culture and religious roots.
