Tower of London

The Tower of London is a historic castle and fortress located on the north bank of the River Thames. It has served as a royal residence, fortress, prison and royal mint since being founded by William the Conqueror in 1066. It is now a popular tourist attraction, with its Tower Wharf with a pier, its White Tower and defences as well as the Crown Jewels and the Ravens. The Tower is also a designated World Heritage Site and contains a unique collection of buildings, monuments and stories. Visitors can enjoy exploring the fortified walls and towers as well as taking a Yeoman Warder tour and witnessing the traditional Ceremony of the Keys. The Tower also hosts a range of attractions including the Tower Bridge Exhibition and the Royal Armouries Museum. The Queen’s House and Tower Green are also great spots for visitors to learn more about the Tower’s history and its prisoners.
