The Temple of Knoum, also known as Esna Temple, is a temple dating to the Ptolemaic era located in the city of Esna, Egypt. The temple is built of limestone and is dedicated to the god Khnum, who was responsible for the Nile flooding. The temple complex consists of a hypostyle hall and several other chambers decorated with reliefs and hieroglyphs. The temple also has a roofed section which preserves an ancient well and the remains of a Roman road. Inside the temple, there are numerous carved images depicting gods and goddesses, as well as scenes from everyday life. It is a great destination for those interested in ancient Egyptian art and culture. Photography is welcomed as long as visitors respect the site.
