Nymphenburg Palace, located in Munich, Germany, is one of the most recognizable Baroque palaces in Europe. Built for the Bavarian rulers in 1664, the palace is an example of the extravagance of the Wittelsbach family, and features a lavish series of halls, chambers, and courtyards adorned with works from some of the most important artists of their time. As you wander its rooms you will discover areas like the Bavarian Hall of Mirrors, the Court Garden, a Gallery of Beauties, the Collection of Carriages, and the Porcelain Manufactory. Its sprawling park is also a sight to behold. Boasting canals, lakes, bridges, and sculptures, you may find it hard to believe that the 32 hectare park was once used as a hunting ground.
