Roman Theater

The Roman Theater in Beit She'an, Israel is an impressive and well-preserved testament to Roman culture and grandeur. The intricate masonry and sprawling walkways were built by the Romans and are a perfect example of their craftsmanship. Visitors can explore the orchestra, stage, and circle tiers as well as a large and impressive archway. The theater is believed to have been built in the 2nd century AD but much of the stadium itself is from a later period of restoration. Visitors can access the theater via stairs, and it offers unique views of the surrounding hills. Of interest for visitors and photographers, is the nearby Byzantine Quarter, which is center of some of the best-preserved remains from the Roman and early Byzantine periods.
