Jagdschloss Granitz
📍 Frá Inside, Germany
The Jagdschloss Granitz is a historic hunting lodge located in the seaside town of Binz on the island of Rügen in Germany, just off the coast of the Baltic Sea. The lodge was constructed in the Neo-Gothic style in the mid-19th century and was used as the summer retreat of Wilhelm Malzahn, the Count of Putbus and head of the local aristocracy.

The Jagdschloss Granitz today consists of two wings, the main wing and the lower wing, surrounded by a park filled with wildlife. Visitors can explore the interiors of both wings, which feature many of the original 19th-century decorative elements. The second floor of the main wing has been converted into a museum containing artifacts related to the history of the lodge and the surrounding region. From the lodge, you can take a pleasant walk to the top of nearby Granitzberg to enjoy views of the Baltic Sea, the surrounding towns and the nearby forests. The Granitzberg also contains several impressive 19th-century monuments and a viewing platform. There are also several trails from the lodge through a nearby nature reserve. Whether or not you decide to explore the lodge or take a walk around the park and nature reserve, the Jagdschloss Granitz is a great place to explore and appreciate a bit of German history.
