Ilheu Mole

Ilheu Mole and Porto Moniz, in Portugal, offer interesting sites for travelers and photographers alike. Ilheu Mole is a small island off the coast of Funchal, the capital of Madeira. Its unique ambience, highlights include a lighthouse and ancient fort, black sandy beaches and mesmerizing rock formations. This nature reserve is a great spot for watching a variety of marine life such as whales, dolphins, cruising sea birds and more. For photographers, sunrise and sunset can both make for great photo opportunities. Porto Moniz, also on the island of Madeira, boasts some of the most beautiful coastal areas on the island. With its vast stretch of hexagonal basalt rock formations there is plenty to explore. The rocks are great for snorkeling, swimming and recreation.
