It was built in the 2nd century BC by two wealthy freedmen, Aulus Vettius Conviva and Aulus Vettius Restitutus. The interior of the house is divided into different sections, including a central courtyard, a tablinum (reception room), and a peristyle garden. Visitors can also see a well-preserved kitchen and a cellar with original wine jars. The house is a popular tourist attraction, offering a unique glimpse into the daily life of ancient Romans. Admission to the House of the Vettii is included in the ticket for the Pompeii archaeological site.
