Eisbach wave
📍 Germany
The Eisbach wave is an artificially created standing wave in Munich, Germany. It forms where the Eisbach canal meets the Englischer Garten park. The wave is popular with surfers, kayakers and river rafters. The original wave was made in 1972 by digging a small pond at the confluence of the Eisbach and the Isar, enabling a wave to be created and surfed by local surfers. The wave is visible to spectators, who watch daredevil surfers try to ride it instead of the ocean waves. The wave is also popular among rafters who enjoy a thrilling ride and quick rush of adrenaline. It is also a beautiful sight for photographers who come to capture its serenity.
