Dyrhólaey Lighthouse - Frá Front, IcelandU@dennisvandalen - UnsplashDyrhólaey Lighthouse📍 Frá Front, IcelandThe Dyrhólaey Lighthouse is one of the most popular spots to visit in south-eastern Iceland. Located in the small town of Vik on the south coast of the country, the lighthouse sits atop a 120-meter-high (394 ft) sea-cliff and offers fantastic views of the nearby black sand beach and archway. Dyrhólaey’s official name is a combination of two Icelandic words, ‘Dyr’, meaning ‘door’ or ‘opening’, and ‘Hólaey’, meaning ‘Island’. From the top of the lighthouse, visitors get a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding area, including the glacier Mýrdalsjökull, the Reynisdrangar sea stack, and the mountain Reynisfjall. On a clear day, the views of the coastline, the immense cliffs, and the ruggedness of Iceland’s south coast are truly spectacular. The light house also serves as a nesting site for hundreds of seabirds and guillemots, making it a must-see stop for any bird-lover.🗺 KortSýna á korti🎫 FerðamannastaðirAthugaðu ferðamannastaði í nágrenninu🏨 FarfuglaheimiliAthugaðu farfuglaheimili í nágrenninu🌦 Upplýsingar um veðurFáðu veðurupplýsingar og margt fleira í appinu.
