The castle is spread out atop a long hill, and visitors can explore the ruins, including interesting defense structures, numerous towers, and walls. The castle provides stunning views of the Seine Valley. The remains of dungeons, a barrack, kitchens, and a well can all still be seen. Visitors can learn about its rich history in the nearby museum, which includes interactive displays. Château-Gaillard is accessible by car, or by bike through the adjacent park.
