Triumphal Arch

The Triumphal Arch and Parc du Cinquentenaire are two of the most iconic sites in Belgium. The Triumphal Arch is a memorial built in honour of the country’s independence and is a beautiful, majestic structure made of stone and bronze that is illuminated at night to make it stand out. Parc du Cinquantenaire is the city's largest parks, a 30 hectare site teaming with birds, large ponds and rich vegetation. Artworks, memorials and gardens are also located throughout the park. Visitors can explore the historical and cultural buildings and monuments in the park such as the stately Royal Military Museum, the Autoworld car exhibition and the Jubilee Park, a green area that was revitalized in 2005.
