Säntis

Säntis is a majestic mountain peak in eastern Switzerland located on the border between Appenzell Ausserrhoden and St. Gallen. It stands at an elevation of 2,502 meters (8,210 feet) and is the highest point in the Alpstein region of the Appenzellerland. Säntis can be reached by a funicular or for the more adventurous, a challenging hike. With its breathtaking views of seven mountain ranges, Säntis is commonly referred to as the 'Celestial Pyramid' of Switzerland. From the summit, you can see Lake Constance, the cities of St. Gallen and Zurich, and even parts of Germany in the distance. With its sheer cliffs, mountain meadows, and glacier valleys, Säntis is a dream destination for hikers and mountaineers. The glacial valleys contain some of the most gorgeous meadow landscapes in all of Switzerland and offer excellent possibilities for photography.
