Praça de Tiradentes Ouro Preto is a beautiful square located in the center of old colonial town of Ouro Preto, in Brazil. It is a major hub of tourism, near bars, churches and colonial mansions. The park, surrounded by arcades and balustrades, is named after the Brazilian freedom fighter of the same name. Many beautiful fountains, sculptures and a sandstone archway can be found in the square, all depicting the colonial roots of the city. To the right of the main square lies the town hall, an impressive building decorated with classical statues, tiles and reliefs. Also, every year the traditional Cavalhadas festival is held here with performances accompanied by music, costumes and theater. It is an ideal place to experience the past of Brazil and observe uniquely beautiful 18th-century buildings.
