Leuchtturm Helgoland

The Leuchtturm Helgoland is one of Germany's most iconic lighthouses, located on a granite cliff in the North Sea, on Helgoland island. It's visible from the shore, and there is a paved path that leads up the cliff where people can admire the magnificent vista of the North Sea, while spotting seals and sea birds in the surrounding nature. The top of the Leuchtturm provides spectacular views of the coastline, with sheer cliffs, secluded coves and the vast expanse of the sea. The Leuchtturm is also one of Europe's oldest lighthouses, dating back to 1793. It still has its original Fresnel Lens and is fully functioning as a navigational aid. Although the tower is normally closed to the public, visitors may take a tour with a Leuchtturm guide and learn about the lighthouse's history and importance.
