Chamarel Waterfall is a magnificent sight to behold in the heart of Mauritius. Located within the breathtaking landscape of the Black River Gorges National Park, this spectacular two-tiered cascade is 95 m (312 ft) tall and gives a majestic show of beauty. Visitors can also enjoy the lush vegetation and Rare Earth colored soil of the nearby Chamarel Plain. The area is dotted with traditional Creole-style houses, hamlets and attractions, making it the ideal spot to explore. The waterfall is accessible by car and you can get there by taking the Cascavelle Bypass and follow the road signs to Chamarel. Be sure to bring your walking shoes as the hike to the waterfall can take up to an hour. A truly amazing and beautiful experience!
