Castillo Monleón is a beautiful castle in the small town of Monleón, in the province of Burgos, Spain. It was built in the late 10th century to protect the route that connected the Cantabrian Sea with the Ebro River. It was used by the kings of Navarre and Castile until the 15th century. It still stands imposingly above the town, even though it has been badly damaged by wars and the passage of time. It has an irregular shape, with its four towers and moat visible from afar. Inside the castle grounds, visitors will find a Renaissance-style garden and a pond. The castle also has a chapel, a tower, and a drawbridge. It is a great spot to explore and take photos of its ancient walls. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the castle.
