Cascada Tomata is an amazing waterfall set in the lush, tropical surrounds of Mexico's Pilares region. Situated at the base of a steep cenote, Cascada Tomata plunges into a pool of striking blue-green water that gains intense hues depending on the amount of sunlight that filters through the canopy of trees above. The site has a residential area nearby, so it is worth exploring further. From the viewpoint of the waterfall you can hike down an embankment to the base of the canyon, making sure to stay on the marked trails. The crashing water is spectacular to see and the surrounding landscape of green ferns and tall rocks makes this an unforgettable spot.
