Braunfels

Braunfels and Marktplatz are situated in the Westerwald region of Germany. A charming medieval town, Braunfels is known for its quaint old-fashioned buildings and cobbled streets. The main attraction here is the Marktplatz, a central square surrounded by cafés and restaurants, with a weekly market every Sunday. Also worth seeing is the Kaiserturm, a 13th century defensive tower. If you love history, you'll be amazed by the other medieval sights, including the castle and the historic wells. These wells were used to supply water to the town, and are still functioning today. Also, a trip to the 'Giebelhaus', a typical Westerwald house built in the 16th century, should not be missed.
