The Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta in Bagno di Romagna is one of the oldest churches in the area. Situated atop a hill, this Romanesque church was built in the 12th Century and boasts a pair of characteristic red-tiled bell towers and a stunning façade featuring a Gothic portal and four columns. Inside, the interior contains a chapel with a beautiful fresco depicting the Last Judgment as well as an altar dating from 1345. There is also an impressive wooden crucifix from the late 15th Century. The Basilica is also home to a crypt and two chapels dedicated to the Annunciation and the Assumption.
