The Reading Pagoda is a dramatic 17-story Chinese-style pavilion built atop Mount Penn in Reading, Pennsylvania. The structure was built in 1908, as an observation tower by Dr. Wilson Zion Smith, the town's well-known philanthropist. It stands 236 feet tall and features seven observation levels, including a 330-foot observation deck. Visitors can take an elevator up to the observation deck and enjoy a view of the Reading area from this popular viewpoint. The Pagoda is surrounded by the 106-acre Bernhart Parkway, which offers hiking and biking trails and various other recreational activities. The park also features a pond, a playground, and picnic areas. The Pagoda is a great destination for locals and visitors alike, offering a unique view of the nearby city and countryside.
