Located in the remote village of Karesuando, Norrbottens län, Sweden, lies the red wooden Karesuando Church. Built in the late 1700's, the Karesuando Church is the oldest still-in-use church in the Norrbottens county and is a key cultural and spiritual monument in the region. The church's reputation as a unique spectacle is brought to life by its bright red exterior, which would be quite striking on the horizon if not for its more prominent neighbor, the Kinnaså Church. It is well-known for its wooden shingle roof, which fits perfectly with the surrounding Swedish countryside and adds an interesting aesthetic to the building.
