Nebraska State Capitol

Nebraska's State Capitol building stands in the heart of the city of Lincoln and is a well-known 119 year old building. It's Richardsonian Romanesque architecture and 132ft tower make it an impressive sight. There is a beautiful fountain which is lit in the evening and the building grounds have a vast statue of The Sower, portrayed of a bronze pioneer sowing corn. The building ground also have many sculptures and mural tile art. Guided and self-guided tours are available, free of charge, and provide access to several interesting artifacts on display. Visitors need to check with the Capitol Office directly to see what tours are currently available. The Capitol is surrounded by a formal park-like setting, encircling terraces, enormous trees and a playground, making it a wonderful place to visit.
