📍 Bangladesh
Lalbagh Fort is a 17th-century Mughal fort, known for its exquisite architectural design and historical significance. Situated in the heart of Dhaka, Bangladesh, this fort was originally built as a residence for Prince Azam, the son of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. However, due to unforeseen events, the fort was left unfinished and only about a third of the original plan was completed. Today, the fort serves as a popular tourist attraction, boasting a beautiful mosque, mausoleum, and gardens. The entrance fee is minimal and includes a guided tour by local volunteers. As you explore the fort, be sure to capture the stunning marble carvings, intricate calligraphy, and detailed mosaic work, which are unique to Mughal architecture. The best time to visit is during late afternoons, as the fort is beautifully lit up during sunset, providing photographers with captivating shots. However, it is important to note that the fort is closed on Sundays and opens at 2:00 PM on Fridays due to mosque prayers. Additionally, visitors are advised to dress modestly and be respectful of the holy sites within the fort.
