Château de Sully

Located in the lush Loire Valley, Château de Sully is an amazing castle with a long and turbulent history. First built in the 10th century, it has been, at various times, a fortress, an administrative power center and, most recently, a private residence. The castle has tall and powerful towers, a deep and wide moat, and a Renaissance-era châteauneuf. There are 40 rooms filled with painted frescos, ornamental stonework, and grand tapestries, which bring the history to life. The grounds contain breathtaking gardens, many of which feature French formal garden designs and lovely waterfalls and fountains. There is even a vineyard and small farm. The castle can be visited by appointment and guided tours are available.
