The Brandenburg Gate is one of the most iconic sites in all of Germany. Located in the center of Berlin, it is the only remaining city gate from the original city located on the site since the 18th century. The gate has come to symbolize the history of Berlin, particularly the reunion of Germany in 1989. It consists of 12 Doric columns, forming five passageways, with a Quadriga sculpture at the top depicting a chariot pulled by four horses. Today it is a popular tourist destination and a symbol of German reunification. Visitors to the area can take in the beautiful architecture, take a leisurely stroll through the nearby Pariser Platz, or take in some nearby galleries and museums.
