Augstmatthorn

Augstmatthorn is an easily accessible peak located in the high meadows of Oberried am Brienzersee, Switzerland. It offers an excellent view of not only Brienzersee Lake but also the Bernese Alps and distant valley areas. Easily reachable via mountain paths from the moorlands of Oberried, the peak is only 1610 meters high and can be climbed in a single day. Reaching the top requires both physical and technical prowess. On the way up, you'll run into several sights such as farmhouses, moorlands and gorges. Once at the top, majestic panoramic views with different play of sunlight make it a favorite destination for hikers. Although slightly challenging it is definitely a must-visit when in Switzerland.
