Tolaga Bay Wharf

Tolaga Bay Wharf is a historic wooden wharf and the longest one in New Zealand, stretching 660m into the Pacifc Ocean! It is a major tourist attraction and a great spot for fishing. There is a small museum built in the shape of the wharf at the entrance, giving you a fascinating look into the local history and the culture of the indigenous people, the Ngāti Porou. The beach next to the wharf offers sunset views that are absolutely stunning and provide a great spot for swimming, snorkelling or simply relaxing. Don't miss out on the walk along the beach and the magnificent sandstone arch that the waves have cut into the rocky cliff.
