The Blue Mosque

The Blue Mosque, also known as Sultan Ahmed Mosque, is a magnificent historical monument located in Cankurtaran, Istanbul, Turkey. Built in the early 17th century, the mosque is a symbol of the city of Istanbul, boasting six massive minarets, a cascading cascade of domes, and several priceless tiles from the famous Iznik workshop. The exterior of the mosque is elaborately decorated with intricate tile mosaics, a marble fountain, and a lion fountain. The interior features a variety of stunning yet simple calligraphy, stained glass windows, and the traditional mihrab (the symbol of the mosque). Visitors to the mosque are sure to be taken away by its sheer beauty. Though the general public can’t access the mosque, tourists can observe the exterior of the mosque at a distance. The area around the mosque is picturesque and and makes an excellent spot to take a leisurely stroll and take in the wonderful atmosphere of the city.
