Stirling Castle

Stirling Castle is a stunning and imposing medieval fortress located near the city of Stirling in Scotland, United Kingdom. The castle stands atop Castle Hill, one of the most important strongholds of the kingdom and is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs. Its history spans over 900 years, making it the largest castle in Scotland.

Inside the castle, visitors will find a fantastic collection of furnishings, tapestries, weapons and art from throughout the ages, along with other interactive experiences for kids and adults alike. Not to be missed is the Great Hall, which is a replica of the original from the 1500s, as well as the magnificent views from the outer walls and the nearby Stirling Bridge. The castle also contains a museum dedicated to the battles of Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn. Stirling Castle is a top visitor attraction in the area and is well worth a visit for its historical importance, its architecture and its stunning views across the Forth Valley. Entry to the castle is free to Historic Scotland Members, with a fee charged for non-members. There is also a shop and café in the visitor centre at the castle.
