Schloss Stockholm

Schloss Stockholm is one of the premier cultural attractions in Norrmalm, Stockholm. Housed within the Baroque style Schloss, the former home of Karl XI of Sweden's brother, is an extensive history museum and art gallery. The museum provides a comprehensive overview of the history of Stockholm, from its earliest settlers until the present day. One of the main attractions is a grand hall of noble portraits, depicting some of Sweden's greatest figures from the past. The palace grounds and gardens are also open to visitors and provide peaceful retreats, surrounded by statues, sculptures and artfully sculpted trees. The small palace chapel, unique in its unadorned simplicity, is also open to the public. Schloss Stockholm is without a doubt one of the most impressive sights in Norrmalm.
