Märchenschloss Lichtenstein – Lichtenstein Schloss is a fairy-tale castle built in 1840-42, located in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany, at the Lauter Valley. The castle sits on top of a hill overlooking the valley and is truly a sight to behold. It was built as a hunting lodge and later served in World War II as a fieldhospital. It has a long, winding history that is captivating and fascinating to explore. Hiking trails will allow you to explore the castle and the surrounding area, and on a clear day the views of the valley below are spectacular.
