Les Musiciens de Brême

Les Musiciens de Brême is a landmark sculpture located in Rīga, Latvia. It was erected in 1987 to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the city of Rīga and is a copy of a sculpture originally created by Otto von Schirach in 1909. The sculpture reflects the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, "The Musicians of Bremen", portraying four animals as city musicians in Rīga. The four animals represent wealth, earthly strength, wisdom and courage, and each is playing a musical instrument - an rooster with a bagpipe, a donkey with a double bass, a cat with a violin and a dog playing the concertina. This sculpture sits in the quiet leafy park known as Kalnciema Iela, located in the charming city centre of Rīga, making it a must-see for tourists and photographers alike.
