Karlstor Wehr

Karlstor Wehr is an impressive stone structure in the heart of Heidelberg Old Town. Built in 1718, this structure once protected the Old Town from the Neckar River floods. Despite its ancient construction, Karlstor Wehr remains largely unchanged. The wehr is an eye-catching bordered arch, lined with statues of the prince electors above and two guardhouses on the sides. The large archway leads to a dark forested walkway with a view of the Neckar River. Visitors can stroll through the wehr and enjoy the picturesque view of this historic German town.
