Farol da Póvoa de Varzim

The Farol da Póvoa de Varzim is one of the most photographed spots in Portugal. It is located on the ocean and is boasting with its whitewashed walls and burnt orange color. The Lighthouse has been in operation since 1888 and has provided guidance to ships throughout the centuries. It is perched on a rocky outcrop, facing the mighty Atlantic Ocean. It features a prominent cupola and a gallery with arcades, a classic design of the Portuguese Lighthouses.
