The Roman Catholic church stands on the banks of the Danube River and enjoys a splendid view of the town. It is the largest church in Hungary and the seat of the Roman Catholic Church Primate of Hungary. The interior architecture of the basilica is highly decorated, with intricate frescos and glittering mosaics. Its walls contain various relics such as the Szent Jobb, the church's most valuable relic which was wielded by St. Stephen I, Hungary's first king. There are also the tombs of the archbishops located in the crypt and a number of priceless artworks. Visitors to the basilica can admire the frescoes and sculptures in the main hall as well as the view from the terraces outside.
