Amberes' Buildings

Grote Markt in Antwerpen, Belgium, is one of the best known and loved public squares in the city. Surrounded by iconic, historic buildings and sights, it offers an atmosphere that is pure, classic Belgium. The impressive 15th & 16th century guildhalls are adorned with the spires and gables of the centuries. Take a stroll around the square to take in the glamorous buildings, which contrast with the classic statues, little shops and street performers on the square. Visit the various important buildings like the Town Hall, the Nationaal Scheepvaartmuseum and the University Library. Don't forget to bring some coins to enjoy the locals pastime of bird feeding in the Square. Make sure to time your visit to the weekly flea market (open each Sunday).
