The Lotts Bar

Tulum is a small city and archaeological site located on the Caribbean coast of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is renowned for its well-preserved Ancient Mayan ruins, including an impressive clifftop fortress, reflecting the architectural styles of the Mayan culture of the late post-Classical period. Tulum was an important port city during the post-Classic Period of Maya history (600-1200 AD). Though it may have been the site of some kind of trade between the local Mayans and nearby Central American tribes, the area's main activity was likely ceremonial in nature. The main structure of the city was the imposing Stocholm Tower, which commanded both the city and view of the coast and nearby Caribbean islands. Other ruins found in the city include of palaces, built with stone and mortar, and two temples dedicated to the Mayan Gods of Wind and Water.
