Mirador de Cofete is a cliff-side lookout in the southwest of La Palma in the Canary Islands. It provides spectacular views across the Atlantic Ocean. The overwhelming sense of space here is thrilling and uplifting. There are various trails to hike through the cacti-strewn hills and canyons, and the vegetation is much greener than the other islands thanks to the regular rains. Make sure to bring plenty of water and good shoes before you set off. Though the views here are stunning, be aware that the winds can roar up at any time.
