Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is a Gothic-style church located near the Palace of Westminster in London. It is one of the most important churches in the United Kingdom. Founded in 960, it has remained a place of worship for over 1000 years. The Abbey is the traditional burial place of British kings and queens and is also used for coronations and royal weddings. Inside there are numerous chapels, tombs, and a vast collection of sculptures and artwork from the past 1000 years. The beauty of the Abbey makes it a popular tourist destination and must-see while in London. There are almost a dozen chapels that can be explored including the Chapel of St George, the Queen’s Tomb, and Edward the Confessor's Tomb. Photography is allowed inside the Abbey as long as it is done without a tripod or flash.
