It was situated on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, with an awe-inspiring view of the Gulf of Corinth. The Oracle of Delphi, a high priestess who prophesized the future, was believed to be housed in the Temple of Apollo. Once the most important religious center of the ancient Greek world, it is now a major archaeological site and tourist destination. The ruins of the Temple, including the sacred and legendary Castalian Spring, can still be visited today. Constructed from white marble, large parts of the temple's intricate columns and walls are still intact and are incredibly well-preserved. A large statue of Apollo was once house inside this sacred temple. Remnants of ancient carvings, sculptures, treasures, and other artifacts still remain, with more discoveries still being uncovered to this day.
