Summit Lake is a small lake located near Bailey, United States. The lake is located at an 8,200-foot elevation, making it one of the highest-altitude lakes in Colorado. The lake stretches over three beautiful acres of pine-filled forests and glacial cirques. The lake is perfect for a calm, peaceful day. Fishing is popular here – the lake is stocked annually with rainbow trout. The lake also offers stunning views of the mountain range and nearby Sangre de Cristo Wilderness, as well as the chance to relax and reflect in the solitude of nature. There are no boat ramps on Summit Lake, but the lake is accessible by foot. Enjoy a quiet, leisurely stroll around the lake. You may even spot a moose or two! Pack a lunch and spend the day enjoying the beauty and serenity that Summit Lake has to offer.
