St. Benedict Bastion is an impressive 17th century structure located in the city of Gallipoli, Italy. It is the farthest point of defence in the city and was built to protect the citizens from Ottoman Empire naval attacks. It has two drawbridges and two towers, and is connected with the city walls creating a complete defence system. The bastion is a popular tourist destination and offers excellent views of the coastlines and scenic pathways. Visitors often explore the area around the bastion and take in its historical architecture and experience its tranquil ambience. The bastion is also home to a stunning lighthouse, which is illuminated during the night.
