Lake Michigan Chicago River Lock - Từ Navy Pier looking south, United StatesericchiaramonteLake Michigan Chicago River Lock📍 Từ Navy Pier looking south, United StatesThe Lake Michigan Chicago River Lock is located on the south branch of the Chicago River in Chicago, United States. It is a modern engineering feat that helps ensures the navigation of boats between the Great Lakes system and the Mississippi River basin. The lock replaced the existing 1880 canal lock which was the cause of the Illinois & Michigan Canal becoming blocked too often with sand and silt. The lock is located at the entrance of the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. The lock allows boats to pass through the barrier without backflow, allowing the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River basins to remain separate. Visitors will find a pedestrian bridge to cross over the Lock and watch boats pass through, as well as paths along the side of the river with attractions such as the Chicago Riverwalk, the River Theater, and industrial and urban architecture. The Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise has several stops on each side of the lock, which are great for getting close to the lock and observing it at closer range. The lock is open to visitors all year round, although the summer months tend to be the most popular for visitors to come and enjoy the view.🗺 Bản đồHiển thị trên bản đồ🎫 Điểm thu hút khách du lịchKiểm tra các điểm du lịch gần đó🏨 Ký túc xáKiểm tra ký túc xá gần đó🌦 Thông tin thời tiếtNhận thông tin thời tiết và hơn thế nữa từ ứng dụng.
