
The Coach and Horses Rock Formation is a stunning natural landmark in England's Peak District National Park. Located near the small village of Castleton near the Derbyshire border, the formation consists of three gigantic jagged stone columns standing atop a ridge. It is said to have been formed when a monolith fell from the sky and spalled into three pieces by the impact. From the formation, visitors will be be treated to a stunning landscape, including the nearby Lose Hill, Mam Tor and the Derwent Valley. Despite its size, the formation is accessible by foot, and hikers will be rewarded with some of the most spectacular views in the region. Due to its location, visitors must bear in mind that the elements can pose a danger to their safety, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing and footwear.
