Bowness Bay is the largest body of water in the Lake District, England. Located in the popular tourist town of Bowness-on-Windermere, Bowness Bay offers stunning views and is the ideal spot for a walk or cycle trip. On a clear day, you can observe the beautiful backdrop of misty hills, verdant greens and sparkling blues. You can also take a leisurely trip on one of the lake cruises, or hire a watercraft to get close to the impressive wildlife. Popular activities include paddling, sailing, and rowing, as well as canoeing, windsurfing and more. The lake is home to herons, coots, grebes and terns, as well as a number of other species. There are plenty of yachts and houseboats to admire, with events throughout the year. Don't miss a visit to the nearby World of Beatrix Potter attraction, located just outside the Bowness-on-Windermere train station.
