Bear Lake

Bear Lake lies in the Upper Poudre Canyon near its headwaters in Larimer County; with it's calm and sparkling surface its one of the most scenic alpine lakes in Colorado. It's easily reached via the Valley Trail or Ute Trailhead, and is a great spot for biking, fishing, or just a casual stroll in the outdoors. There's a large beach and campsites around the lake, perfect for a relaxing day out or a days camping. There's lots of wildlife to spot in the area, ranging from moose and elk, to bald eagles and osprey. If you fancy some history there's also a designated historic district, from the days when it provided refuge for the pioneers headed west.
