Vernal Falls

Vernal Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Yosemite National Park in the United States. It is located just east of Yosemite Village and is part of the Merced River. The waterfall is approximately 317 feet (97 meters) tall and is composed of three sections that produce a unique, incredible sight. The top section of the falls is the most powerful, followed by the middle and then the lower section. The beauty of Vernal Falls attracts hikers, photographers and nature lovers alike. A popular trail leads up to the top of the Falls. The Mist Trail is one of the most scenic trails in Yosemite and it starts near Happy Isles near Yosemite Village. The trail takes you to the foot of the Falls, about 0.8 miles (1.3 km) each way. From there, you can experience the jagged cliffs, bridge above the gorge, and incredible views of the valley. However, steps can be slippery, so hikers should be extra careful. Make sure to visit Vernal Falls for an unforgettable experience.
