Sótano de las Golondrinas

The Sótano de las Golondrinas is a unique cave system located close to Barrio la Sagrada Familia in Mexico. The cave is filled with thousands of bats which come out to the sky in a wave-like movement every evening. You can take a guided tour of the cave, which lasts one hour and offers visitors a chance to admire the true beauty and glory of nature. Other attractions worth visiting include the great waterfall inside the cave and the glowworm grotto. There is also a bar, souvenir shop, and a small auditorium in the cave where you can listen to lectures and special events. Taking photos inside the cave is highly recommended, though please be aware of your flash and other lighting equipment, as some bats can be sensitive to bright lights.
