Senpiro Falls

Senpiro Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in the eastern corner of Yakushima (Kumage district) in Kagoshima prefecture, Japan. Its name translates to ‘four thousand drops’ which refers to the four total falls that make up the beautiful landscape. The main fall is 14 meters (45 feet) tall, while the other three are smaller. Nature trails lead around the area, and visitors may take in the pristine forest full of ancient Japanese cedars, Japanese cypress and Japanese red pines, as well as the descending mist from the falls. Dense vegetation gives visitors a feeling of privacy away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in Japan.
